A member asked:

How can you tell when you're menstruating after a hysterectomy?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No menstruation...: Menstruation is the process of shedding the inside lining of the uterus. If the uterus was removed surgically, menstruation is not possible. Vaginal bleeding after a hysterectomy isn't normal. If you kept your ovaries, you still will have a hormonal cycle. Many woman still have pain or bloating around the time of ovulation or breast symptoms after ovulation. Best wishes!
