May: be Ascites which can result from liver disease. Other causes include Kidney disease or heart disease

Liver disease: The most common cause for fluid in the peritoneal cavity or ascites is liver disease and typical a result of liver scarring or cirrhosis. There are other causes of ascites which could include some types of cancers or rare blood clots that occur in the blood vessels of the liver. Biopsy of the liver, fluid analysis or CT scans of the abdomen should make the diagnosis. Good luck
