I have diarrhoea (x8 today) - has incr from a month ago - was intermittent. i suspect it is a side effect of clopidogrel, which i have been on since 21 july 2017, - prescribed for mild stroke - problem to cease taking them? cilazapril & artovastatin

Has implications : Could be a side effect however need to think carefully about alternatives as withdrawing this medication may increase recurrent stroke risk. Worth a discussion with your gp to sort out as this will also help make sure that no other medical reasons for your diarrhoea . All the best

Clopidogrel: Diarrhoea is the 4th side effect listed so is a common problem with this medicine. I think it would be important to consider alternative causes for why you might have diarrhoea first before stopping the medication. It is designed to prevent blood clots forming and is therefore important if you have had a stroke. There are alternative agents available that you & your Dr may consider.
