A member asked:

Rapid strep test negative on tuesday but given cephlex. full strep test came back positive today. am i still contagious?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not after 24 hours: The conventional duration of treatment is 10 days to achieve maximal pharyngeal strep eradication rates. However, 5 days of treatment is typically sufficient. Patients are considered no longer contagious after 24 hours of antibiotic therapy
