Cumulative: Salt intake causes the body to retain water over time. Retained water can increase your blood pressure. If your blood pressure is high, you should be limiting your salt intake. If you have normal BP and are just wondering about the effect of salt on your blood pressure, try taking measurements every two hours (except during sleep) over 24 hours from the point when you had a high salt meal.
