Several antibiotics: The choice of antibiotics depends a lot on which germ (there are many in the world) the doctor is trying to stop or kill. Clarithromycin (Biaxin) is similar to azithromycin (Zithromax). Ciprofloxacin (Cipro) is similar to levofloxacin (Levaquin). Antibiotic choices work much better when the bacteria or other susceptible germ is known with certainty, or with medical experience.
