Consider stress Fx.: The outside of the foot can have pain for apparently no reason, especially in the early phases of a stress fracture involving the fifth metatarsal. If the pain has been going on for several weeks, an ordinary x-ray may show the healing. A bone scan may also be necessary. Rest, cast boot and elevation may be on the menu for you.

Tendinitis?: Pain along the outside edge of the foot is quite common. with lack of bruising or swelling could be peroneal tendinitis, possible stress fracture. I would visit a Podiatrist/Orthopedic or your PCP for evaluation.
