Diagnosed with cutaneous abcess on thursday, given antibodies. abscess still draining and a huge hard area from my hip area to almost my groin.

Immediate Attn: If you have a hard area the size of your thigh, you need emergent medical care for drainage and IV antibiotics. This is quite severe and an emergency. Seek attention now Good luck

Drainage: Antibiotics are not terribly successful to "cure" an abscess. This is because the antibiotics rarely fully penetrate the fluid collection that makes up the abscess. Because of this, many abscesses require surgery in conjunction with antibiotics to fully eradicate the infection.
