Wound care: It's true that you don't want to leave packing in place for too long-it will start to smell and become really grungy, so it must be changed. If it's already been 2 days, it REALLY needs to be changed now, particularly if it's foul. I hope they gave you some gauze or something to replace the packing with. Otherwise I would call right away for proper wound management. You don't want to neglect it.
