Pelvic pain/fibroids: Whenever uterine fibroids are symptomatic, such as pelvic pain, there are several options regarding how to proceed. An endometrial biopsy is done to eliminate or rule in endometrial cancer prior to exploring any surgical options. Removal of the fibroids alone or the uterus is a consideration. There is a <1% cancer rate for fibroids.(leiomyosarcoma) and a frank discussion with your GYN MD is needed
