DBT: Dialectal behavioral Therapy is a type of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). It is the gold standard for helping people who engage in self-harm, recurrently attempt suicide or use substances to cope. It is often used in the treatment of fairly severe borderline personality disorder. Not all providers are trained in DBT.
