Is it possible to catch strep throat from trying on clothing in a store? how long can the bacteria survive on cloth?

No worries: Life is full of possibilities, including catching strep throat when trying on clothes, but we don't worry about stuff like that. To catch strep in a dressing room, an infected person would do a huge sneeze and blow out infected droplets. Next shopper immediately opens her mouth and sucks in a huge breath of that same air, splattering the back of her throat with infected micro-droplets. Unlikely.
