Doc,i had whiplash injury 2yrs back only muscle strain,recently my x-ray shows elongated styloid process.my doc says it's ok,nothing serious.ur views?

Stylus is normal: A whiplash with muscle strain does not cause any lingering damage. A prolonged stylus does not cause symptoms. Don't know why you had an X-ray of your neck, but if you still have a problem, it could be caused by something that does not show up on a regular X-ray. Maybe you need to be examined and tested.

Ok: That would not be a posttraumatic finding or one typically associated with pain. If you are still having pain and xrays otherwise ok, consider more advanced imaging studies such as an MRI or CT scan.
