Is antibiotic cefuroxime axetil effective against both upper and lower respitory infections or effective only against upper respitory infection?

It can be: Cefuroxime can be used to treat pneumonia (lower respiratory infection) as long as the bacteria you are infected with is "sensitive" to the antibiotic. Bacteria can evolve and develop resistance, so there is always a possibility that your infection is resistant to the bacteria, OR if it's a viral infection it will not respond to antibiotics (it will only help develop resistant bacteria!)
