Not first choice: This is an antibiotic, but not my first choice in treating oral infections. I usually start with Amoxicillin and when someone is allergic to that go to clindamycin. This antibiotic may help but some but will not cure a tooth infection. One must eliminate the source of infection to cure and that means trying to get to a dentist for proper diagnosis and treatment.

Probably not: Different antibiotics treat different bacteria, in the one you listed is not a first choice for dentists. I suggest you seek the care of a local dentist to resolve your problem.
