A member asked:

I have thyroid symptoms like irregular menstruation, joint and boady pain, constipation. my tsh test result is 4.59 is it normal should i take medicine?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

See below: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Having said that, your level is at the upper end of normal and by some measures abnormal and you may need to see your doctor to discuss getting thyroid medication.
