That is a bit strang: Hernias are common and by definition, it means that part of your abdominal viscera(contents like intestine) is slipping out, through the abdominal wall. Fatty lipomas does not make much sense to me. If you have a hernia it will pop out when you try to cough. Lie down in bed and check it out. I would advise you to seek a second opinion from a good surgeon before trusting the first one's diagnosis.
