PID v. Endometriosis: Pelvic Inflammatory Disesase (PID) is a infection which is affecting the uterus, fallopain tubes, or ovaries; always caused by untreated sexually transmitted infections (STIs). Endometriosis is tissue from the uterine lining that is outside the uterus that can cause pain. It is difficult to diagnose and may require an operation. Your symptoms are more consistent with endometriosis than PID.
