A member asked:

I just had arthroscopic knee surgery my surgeon removed 15 to 20 loose bodies from my knee measuring 3 to 5 mms is this big. what us the trochlea?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Kneecap groove: The trochlea is the groove at the end of the femur. The kneecap/patella sits in this groove. We call this the patellofemoral joint. 15-20 is a very large number of loose bodies. 3-5 mm loose bodies would be considered small to medium in size.
