Professional help is: You mentioned three problems: a dry mouth, a salty taste when you swallow, and a noise in your jaw. A dry mouth can come from simple things like not drinking enough water or as a side effect from a number of medications. It can also be a sign of sign of more serious problems such as diabetes and sjögren's syndrome. A salty taste is frequently a sign of blood in the mouth. See a dentist.

Dry mouth: There are many reasons including, but not limited to, mouth breathing, partial airway obstruction, reaction to meds, food allergies, GERD, Diabetes, syndromes, etc. Would have to see/hear the "snap" to give an answer. Best suggestion, see your Dentist. Take a full written list of all symptoms and all Meds with you.
