Infection risk: Tattoos drive ink under the skin and any bacteria on the skin surface can also be driven into small blood vessels and capillaries in that location. This can increase the risk of those bacteria being carried to the heart valves and causing a serious infection known as bacterial endocarditis which is life threatening. Most people cannot live without a functioning heart, so think about the risk.
