Lump: The lump could be an enlarged submental lymph node reacting to what could be a herpes virus or a bacterial skin infection. Since treatment is available for a herpes infection I recommend that you consult your physician or dermatologist for diagnosis and treatment. In the meantime apply antibacterial ointment like bacitracin.
