Ankle sprain: See pcp/sports medicine/er doc for evaluation, x-ray (if indicated), treatment. Rest it, ice it to decrease swelling, ace bandage for compression & stability, elevate it to reduce swelling & pain; NSAID for pain & inflammation. Use crutches if too painful for weight bearing.
