Do this test: Let's assume you injured your left ankle. Stand on your right foot and hop to the right three times, going as far as you can with each hop. Stop at the landing spot after the third hop and change to stand on just your left foot. Now hop to the left three times as far as you can. If you cannot get to your starting point with the injured side, don't run. If you do run, wear an ankle support brace.
