4 years old : With accelerating hip pain needs to be seen urgently by a physician in a setting where X-rays and blood work can be done. Differential diagnoses under consideration include transient synovitis, inflammatory arthropathy, or septic hip or related infections. Legg-calve-perthes disease another possibility. The risk of infection causing the pain is the reason for urgency.
