My 18 year old son went swimming in a swimming pool monday night. he got water in his nose and said it went to his throat. thursday, he had a fever, nasal & chest congestion, cough, nausea when hungry (hes able to eat). i worry about naeglari fowler?

The amoeba thrives is brackish pond water or streams where movement is minimal. Public or private swimming pools are not the source of these infections. He could easily have some sinus or other infection that would benefit from an evaluation for treatment options.

Monitor his temperature and breathing pattern. It is possible that he has bronchitis, pneumonia or sinusitis. He may have a community acquired viral infection from contact with other kids. Discuss COVID 29 testing and vaccination with your Pediatrician. Watch for signs of shortness of breath and prolonged cough.
