About absolutes...: The only absolutes in life are "death and taxes," as the saying goes. Patience is a virtue. Pregnancy tests are very accurate 3 weeks after sex. There is almost never a need to test before then. If tested less than 2 weeks after sex, a positive result is likely real, but a negative result may be due to testing too early. Thus, to avoid repeat testing, one can do her first test 3 weeks after sex.
