Sure: It depends on what is causing your pain. Your GP or family doctor would be a better place to start if this is not new nor an emergency though...

From what?: Yes that can happen but why and where are you having pain from? It is better to treat the cause of the pain, not just get IV narcotics. Try home medications first or call your doctor.
