My daughter (5yr) has had cold symptoms for the past 5 days, otc meds don't seem to be working. need a prescribed med.

Why ?: The common cold lasts a week or two. If you find someone who gives you a prescribed "cold" med it is just to get you out of the office. Colds don't need antibiotics & we have found that the old cold meds, which are now OTC provide nothing of value to that age group.
