Mirena: The Mirena IUD is approved for use for 5 years. After 5 years it should be removed. If one is happy with it a new one can be placed. If you are having pregnancy symptoms then a home pregnancy test should be done. An expired IUD would not directly cause pregnancy symptoms or an enlarged uterus
