Ibuprofen is not: recommended for pregnant women especially in the third trimester (after 24 weeks). It can cause harmful effects to the fetus, including closing the ductus arteriosus (blood supply to the heart) prematurely, and prolonged labor and bleeding after delivery to the mother. You should only use acetaminophen (e.g. Tylenol) during the third trimester. Thanks for trusting in HealthTap.
