My ribs hurt from coughing too much! feels almost broken, i haven't taken motrin because i'm pregnant. should i apply cold or warm compress on area?

Probably cold...: If the pain acutely happened today, or in the past 24 hours or so, then apply a cold compress to the area. If it has been going on for a few days, then a warm compress should be applied. You also need to find out the etiology of your cough. Possibilities include acute bronchitis, pneumonia, bronchospasm, gerd, post-nasal drip, etc. See your doctor for diagnosis and treatment!

Yes: Could actually use either, but usually start with cool compresses and see if helps. Can use occasional tylenol (acetaminophen) if having discomfort that keeps you from falling asleep.

You may take tylenol (acetaminophen): Which is safe in pregnancy and i would recommend warm compress to area.
