Difficult question: The known allergens associated with kiwifruit are in the pulp or seed, but not in the skin. this includes the proteins that mimic pollens. If this occurred in the springtime, I would suspect that your sensitization to tree or grass pollen heightened your sensitivity to the corresponding kiwi protein (that somehow made it to the surface probably from the juice of a neighbor fruit).
