Plavix: Use in patient undergoing endoscopic evaluations in patients without any risk for bleeding may not need be stopped. However in patients with high risk of bleeding or who will require significant excision may require stopping Plavix 7 to 10 days. Treating will be in the best position to offer medical advice to a specific patient

Why Plavix?: First define the reason for Plavix. Most often it is used for 6 to 12 months. Why 20 years? Why endoscopy? Biopsies intended? Why "semiconscious"? Why feeding tube? Need detailed discussion with his Drs. Mentally clear? Hope of recovery? DNR?
