Depends: It depends upon how fast your heart is beating and whether there are other symptoms of toxicity, such as fever. Hopefully, you're on beta blockers to keep your heart rate and other symptoms in control -- and you're either on treatment or ready to initiate treatment for your hyperthyroidism --either anti-thyroid drugs or radioiodine.
