Yes: A man asks about the risk of transmission of Hanta Virus from petting a mouse/cat. There is a belief that people may be able to get infected with the virus if they touch something that has been contaminated with rodent urine, droppings or saliva and then touches their nose or mouth. So it is prudent not to touch rodents and if you pet your cat make sure you wash your hands soon.

Possibly: Hantavirus can be transmitted by direct conact with urine or dropping or breathing in dust contaminated with urine / feces from a rodent that carries Hantavirus. Bites are a rare form of tranmission.
