Do not worry: It is exposure to aerosolized rodent excreta that gives the disease.

Hantavirus: The virus is spread when particles are kicked up into the hair from rodent droppings, urine or saliva (like when vacuuming or sweeping).

Hantavirus: In a hantavirus area? Even if yes very unlikely in a desk ,especially if no droppings - clean the desk out ( use gloves) especially if droppings were found. Get new plastic utensils &keep them unexposed in a double/closed plastic bag. Do NOT drink bleach!! https://aces.nmsu.edu/pubs/_l/L209.pdf https://www.cdc.gov/hantavirus/hfrs/index.html www.cdc.gov/hantavirus/surveillance/index.html
