See below: Cats do have potential of carrying in illnesses if the animal they eat is ill. Also cats do put you at risk for different disease if their litter box is not cleaned regularly. So yes you must exercise care. If any suspicion of a substance going into your food. Don't eat it. Get a new clean bowl and start again. Of course you would develop symptoms and it does not sound like you have any
