A member asked:

If one were to experience post-streptococcal glomerulonephritis (psg), in future, will the same infection result in psg again?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

PSG: In this country PSG is uncommon, but a repeat strep infection could stir up kidney problems again. Accordingly if close contacts have a known strep infection, you should probably be out on prophylactic antibiotics. Also if a questionable skin infection is present the same advice pertains. I would be interested in hearing from an infectious disease specialist or nephrologist about your question.
