Label directions: Since Bengay is purchased without a prescription it is safe to use. I have not known of a dosage to exceed. The manufacturer of Bengal has FDA approval for its labeling directions. Use according to label. Never heard of weighing out the product. You might consider asking who told you to do this. Is insurance paying for it. Might be a payer issue w insurance on a prescription from a doctor.

The reason why I asked, I did break out with a rash, and I heard the chemical methyl Salicilate can be harmful even when absorbed in skin.
