Tinnitus: Some drugs, including some antibiotics, cause ringing in the ears (tinnitus) as a side effect. However, penicillin usually doesn't do this. If you were prescribed penicillin because of an upper respiratory infection, the infection is the more likely cause. Discuss with your doctor if it continues.
