Not likely: Hi. Polymyalgia rheumatica is exquisitely sensitive to steroids. But, it is associated with giant cell arthritis, which can be both deadly and blinding. As soon as it is under control you can be put on so-called steroid-sparing immunosuppressive medication such as methotrexate, which will help normalize your life. These have much fewer side effects. Please see a rheumatologist
