Double edged sword: 15 to 20 mg of Prednisone daily is an effective treatment for the pain, stiffness and fatigue of polymyalgia rheumatica (pmr). However pmr effects older adults who are vulnerable to side effects. These commonly include: hypertension, diabetes, weight gain, and osteoporosis.
