In general, can i drive myself home after a one eye cataract surgery? i live alone and the doctors office is 20 miles travel each way.

No: 20 miles is a long way. You will have IV anesthesia and your vision may still be blurred. Should you have an auto accident on the way home, your actions would be inexcusable. Best wishes
