A member asked:

Do many ophthalmologists do cataract surgery in their own office or does a person usually have it done in an outside facility or hospital?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: As time passes and government/insurance mandates makes group practice more common, it is more efficient to build a surgery suite in your office. Perhaps 15% of practices do this currently. Most use a free standing surgery center for cataract surgery but may move to office based surgery in the not too distant future. Best wishes
