Cardiac chest pain: is rarely sharp. It is more usually dull or squeezing like a toothache. There are many potential causes for sharp chest pain but without an examination and some testing it will be impossible to advise you over the internet. You need to see a health care provider and get checked out.

Chest Pain: Few causes, and given your age, I would put them in the following order: - Pain due to muscle sprain of the chest, especially if you hurt your chest somehow - A lung clot, especially if you are feeling short of breath with it. It might happen secondary to a clot elsewhere in the body like the legs - A puncture of the lung, especially if you are having shortness of breath Get it checked please soon

Time to see doctor: Chest pain is a sign that she should talk with her doctor; or go to an E.R. if pain is moderate or worse. In young adults, chest pain is less likely a heart attack. She should not drive (get a ride, or go by ambulance). If it turns out not to be costochondritis, myocarditis, anxiety attack symptoms, or heart attack, the ER will also have checked for problems like a collapsed lung or a pneumonia.

Musculoskeletal: Sorry to hear that you have been having pain. Because it hurts with sudden movement, likely what your are describing will get better on its own eventually. Rest from physical activity that strains that area will help. Possibly it is related skeletal/cartilage/muscle pain, given that it is related to movement. May take a few weeks to fully heal. Hope this helps! Feel better soon
