Time to see a doctor: Chest pain, especially "severe" pain, means she should talk with her doctor right away or go to the ER. In adults, chest pain can be a heart attack, although uncommon under age 40. She should not drive (safer by ambulance). If it turns out not to be myocarditis, pericarditis, other heart symptoms, or anxiety attack symptoms, the ER will also have checked for problems such as a collapsed lung.
