Knee pain: If you haven't recently injured the knee, at your age I suspect patella tendonitis is the cause of your symptoms. Prior cartilage damage is another possibility. For now I recommend rest from knee exertion and taking anti-inflammatory medication like Advil or Aleve(with food) for a week. Cold or hot applications may be used, also. If symptoms persist consult an orthopedic specialist.

Varies : There are multiple potential causes, from things like inflammatory, traumatic, or congenital abnormalities. I would not hesitate to be seen and evaluated for it.
