Get examined: May not be your MCL. Avoid diagnosing yourself. Your symptoms suggest patellofemoral pain; or less likely a meniscus tear if you had a twisting injury / mechanism. See a board certified orthopedic surgeon if your probable kneecap pain doesn't improve . Best of Luck!
