Get rechecked: Usually after several weeks would know whether an antidepressant is going to work or not. It may be that either the dose is too low or another agent needs to be tried/adding in therapy etc. Or it is not depression/anxiety and other diagnoses need to be considered. Recommend seeing your doctor for re-evaluation to sort through these possibilities. All the best.

Meds & Moods: Medication MAY have a place in helping mood disorders w/some folks. Please do what you doctor asks. Do not forget that mind-body approaches to helping mood issues can provide lots of help. This includes things like talk therapy, biofeedback, and clinical hypnosis (see www.asch.net for referrals).
